Insurance Requirements
- Customers who rent frequently may have their own policy covering leased equipment. In this case, their insurance carrier must provide a current Certificate of Insurance for our file naming Telecam Films as "Loss Payee" for full replacement cost of the equipment being leased.
-
- Depreciated value coverage is not acceptable. Coverage stating "only with regards to negligence by named insured" or similar disclaimer is not acceptable.
-
- Dollar limit for leased equipment coverage is at least equal to the value of the goods being leased.
-
- Deductible provision of the above coverage must be within credit limits established by our firm for the Lessee or a deposit may be required.
-
- Rental rates accrue until goods are replaced or repaired.
-
- Telecam Films shall be named as "Also Insured" in the liability portion of Lessee's insurance so defense is provided in the event litigation arises from an incident during lease.
-
- The certificate must be kept current.
-
- Large corporations who are self insured may provide a letter for our file acknowledging full replacement of leased equipment that is damaged, destroyed or stolen. Dollar limits also subject to credit limits established for the company by Telecam Films.
-
- In limited situations, customers without their own insurance provisions may purchase damage waiver for the equipment. A fee will be added to the rental contract equal to fifteen percent (15%) of the total rental charges (excluding tax and shipping). For example, a $200 rental would have a $30.00 damage waiver fee. Rates are subject to change.
- The damage waiver provision has a deductible of $2,500 except for rentals of certain cameras, e.g., DSR-500 and BVW-400/600, which bear a $5,000 deductible.
-
- Customers using Telecam Films's damage waiver are required to place a deposit to cover the deductible for all rentals.
- In the event the value of the equipment to be rented is less than $2,500, a deposit equal to the full replacement value of the equipment will be accepted.
-
- Checks presented for a deposit will be cashed. A refund will be given following return and inspection of the equipment rented.
-
- Credit card deposits will be processed in authorization mode (credit hold) for the term of the rental.
